How it began
A business born in a global pandemic.
It had been an ambition of ours (Minnie & Barney) to one day set up our own bakery, well lets just say the Covid-19 pandemic somewhat accelerated things.
With Minnie furloughed in early 2020 it seemed like no better time than any. It started with a couple of loaves of bread here and there for friends & neighbours. The local community got behind us and it wasn't long until we launched our website. At first it was home delivery, then we moved to click & collect and now we offer a walk-up service too. Barney joined the business full time in November 2021 and the Loaf Tin became a team of two.
What you'll find
Having started simple in the early days it wasn't long until we stepped into the world of sourdough. Having had no formal training, all our knowledge is self-taught. We've spent a lot of time reading about traditional methods and of course lots of trial and error.
Today our main focus is handcrafted sourdough breads, viennoiserie and cakes. Think Cinnamon Buns, Croissants, Seeded Sourdough - that's what we're in to. We make everything in our little bakery cabin and aim to use high quality ingredients and work with local suppliers wherever we can.
How to buy
You can walk-up to our Open Hatch any day we're open and see what we have on offer. Please note that products and stock levels vary.

We have previously offered delivery through a partnership with Click It Local - sadly they are no longer trading so we are unable to offer home delivery at this time.
Given that we are a very small team we are unable to accomodate large wholesale of our products.
