About Us

We’re a small-batch micro bakery based just a couple of miles from the historic market town of Saffron Walden. You’ll find us tucked away on the beautiful Compass Courtyard — a rural hub shared with other like-minded independent businesses.

From our cosy unit, we bake everything by hand and serve it fresh to takeaway. Our menu features a rotating selection of sourdough breads, sweet and savoury pastries, and seasonal cakes and tarts — all made with care and quality ingredients.

We also offer a growing pantry range under our sister brand, Dominique’s — including handmade granola, sourdough crackers, and biscotti — all crafted right here in the same kitchen.

You’re welcome to walk up to the bakery on any day we’re open and see what’s fresh on the counter. Our products and stock vary daily, and we can sell out quickly — especially on busy days.

To guarantee your favourite sourdough and pastries, we recommend placing a pre-order through our online shop.

We’re open:
Tuesday to Friday — 8am to 3pm
Saturday — 9am to 1pm
(Closed Sunday & Monday)

How it all started

Like many good things, it began at home — just a couple of loaves here and there, baked for friends, neighbours, and anyone who was curious. Starting a bakery had always been in the back of our minds, and when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, it nudged us to finally give it a go.

We set up a simple website, began taking orders, and before long, our little side project had grown into something much bigger.

Fast forward to today: we now run a fully fledged bakery with a small team of bakers, all committed to making high-quality, hand-crafted goods with care and consistency.
